Intelligence

Can intelligence be increased? NO.

Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply information.

Intelligence is genetically gifted from parents to offspring, just as athletic ability is. Just as the breeder of champion race horses thinks nothing of forking out $500,000. for the right to cross the blood line of their horse with a champion runner, an engineers's kid will often prove sharp minded. This proves the known link between athletic parents and athletic offspring. The same is true of intellect. Smart people produce smart kids. This is not the hard and fast rule, however it is the hard and fast rule...

The world is a meritocracy now that the serf system is abolished. It used to be that one was born into a level of society and usually stayed at that level for life. A king was a king, a peasant a peasant. And the kids of peasants became peasants themselves: Even if those offspring were capable of more, they were restrained by their allotment in life.

Then several revolutions took place and the system changed to Meritocracy where the smartest and most productive people get paid the highest amounts of money, while the lowest paid people tend to have no talent no mental capability. Those with quick minds will rise to the highest level their talent and merit will allow them, while slow minded poor memory equipped people will struggle to stay out of jail, let alone maintain employment as a cleaner of toilets or a risker of life and limb in a noisy factory.

More or less the meritocracy is both the best system we have and the worst system we have. Is the Meritocracy fair? Sure it is. Is it unfair too? You bet!

Since there is no way to increase intelligence and since the meritocracy is based on intelligence, then surely those who are born intelligent have an unfair advantage? And surely since a Meritocracy rewards intelligence, this would indicate that people with the lowest intelligence have no means to obtain reward? The new kings of Meritocracy are the entrepreneurs such as Richard Branson - physically mesmorphic blond, white. And George Soros, ugly but equipped with a fast brain and a functioning memory. These Kings of Meritocracy live like gods on Earth. They want for nothing, they have the best life a person can experience. People want to be just like them...Just look at the self help book section of any book store. All the titles read "get rich" "Boost your business IQ" Etc Etc. But its all a lie. You cannot be like Richard Branson through education or self help books. You only have a shot at success on par with Branson and Soros and Billionaires like them, if you are blessed with a sharp mind quick and vast memory and more attributes such as these. Does being a good person go hand in hand with intelligence? Ie Does Moral goodness lead to success? The answer unfortunately is also NO.

Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Enron executives...The list is endless and you probably personally know at least one person who is like them. You know the type: Really evil, but nonetheless really functional and competent. A good memory that can recall facts quickly and without distortion or inaccuracy as well as memorising more data than others who were present at the same event. This is what successful rich happy people all have. This is because the Meritocracy rewards competence. Those with better memory will find reward under this system. However there is no link between a person having a good memory as well as being a good person. In fact sometimes a highly competent person is said to be good morally not because they in their hearts care for others and want to help others, but because they are smart enough to do all the things that will lead to them being perceived as morally good. I sometimes wonder whether politicians and corporations really care when they attend a charity function or set up a charity from corporate profits, or whether they actually don't care, but are smart enough to know how to look like they care. And probably minimise their tax bill at the same time! There are endless ways that bad things can happen to good people, and there are endless ways that bad people can avoid pitfalls and achieve success if they happen to be gifted. Talent is not a product of morality, although talented people are more likely to appear morally good. Very talented people have been known to live evil lives while always appearing to be very morally good. Very unintelligent yet morally good people have often fallen victim of their own lack of talent and been perceived as morally bad, when in fact they may do and feel the right thing. Intelligence is the key to success, thus happiness. Intelligence cannot be increased.

Focus for a minute on morality. It is the willingness to do good with good defined by a set of criteria. People are dual and as well as happy smiling love filled beings, people are evil and violent destructive and wrong. There's two sides to the coin. Always. However very few people show their dark side. Most are not aware that it exists and if they are, they are socially aware enough to keep it in the box. If you tell me people don't have a dark side, I ask you why is prostitution present in every society on earth? And why is it such a big business? You may not have participated in the above industry as a client or a provider of service, but you have experienced the thought entering your mind that you'd like to bang the hot blonde next door neighbour, even if you didn't cheat on your wife, you still thought about it. That's your dark side. It caters to dark sides of human beings. So your dark side does exist. Now consider Law. Laws exist to govern behaviour. Ask yourself what you might have done had you grown up in a lawless environment? We are focusing on morality. I ask you: Do you do good because you are good? Or do you avoid doing wrong because you fear punishment?

Often our desire is at odds with the law. I contend that it is only the law that keeps people from acting on their animal instinct and desire. But then isn't it also a crime - a crime against yourself, for you to deny yourself all that your instinct so craves? For example, the blonde next door. Your instinct your passion your desire is she. You want her bad you would love to be in a passionate sexual romance with this young lady. Why? Because your a man. So that is your desire. But this desire can in every case only be satisfied if you are both physically attractive, and intelligent. The hot blonde chick next door aint gonna sleep with no loser. She wants by her evolutionary wiring, to receive charisma beauty a quick mind, health youth and power. All your good intentions in the world do not mean squat unless your physically attractive (mesmorphic athletic) and mentally sharp (intelligent). So here is the conclusion: You get to bang the hot chicks if your attractive and intelligent. However you are denied this opportunity if you are ugly and slow minded.

Yet instinct is blind to reason and knows nothing of personal attributes. instinct - the life force - present in you as it is every living thing, is present in dumb and ugly as it is in attractive and intelligent alike. The dumb and ugly feel needs just as much as the attractive and intelligent. Instinct is your base whether dumb or smart. Having established this fact, know that while we all feel the same instinct causing us emotion and driving us forward as it does, know that only the attractive and intelligent get to satisfy the desire caused by instinct. Its not the hot chick next door causing you to want to do her: Its your instinct in your soul causing you to desire her. Most humans go through life experiencing a kind of hunger: the desire that can never be satisfied. No matter how long they live, how many opportunities come their way or how persistent they are, most people suffer under the oppression of unrealisable desires. you want her but you cant have her. You've tried cautiously to get to know her for six months already. And you are friends at this stage. But all of a sudden, the new guy who moved in across the road, is sleeping with her! He's been here only 3 weeks and he has beaten you to her favour just like that! He's got wide shoulders and a square jaw. Do you? This is a common story, and it depicts the female choosing the male of higher intelligence and physical attractiveness over the male with lesser intelligence and physical prowess. Note morality usually plays a minor role. You had good honest sincere intentions, while your competitor already has a wife, yet he wins because he has the attributes necessary. Morality is not one of those attributes. Why did Jude Law cheat on his hot wife? Because he had the instinctual desire to bang his nanny and she gave him the green light to satisfy that desire. She was complicit in cheating on his wife, because he was physically attractive and intelligent. Morality plays no part in success with women. Despite themselves they choose men that all other women would want to choose. Then they complain that he did not stay faithful. So women are in a bind too. They all want the same thing, yet that which they want is deficient in other areas. Very few attractive and intelligent men are able to limit themselves to one flavour of ice cream. Here we say: If you can get one you can get many; but if you can't get one, you can't get any!

Just say your a high school student who wants to be a lawyer. You struggle and study hard. At exam time you succeed the best you can and the University you want requires 88% to get into the Law course and you score a University entrance score of 80%. I guess your flunked then huh? If you were smarter you would have become a lawyer and made lots of money thus paying for a house and a Saab. If you needed an operation you could pay for that too. If you had any problems with crime you could avoid this by emigrating to a more expensive community etc. You would be equipped to compete and survive in life. However even getting the requisite grade in the final school exam is not enough. Supposing you were smart enough to complete your exams with the entry grade for your Law course. Then you went to university and you got your degree after 5 years hard study. Now you take your degree parchment to the favourite law firm Smart & Smarter & assoc. and you do the interview, show off your parchment and then one last thing: You must sit an IQ test called a "aptitude test". You fail this test and they wont let you in. So even having a degree is not enough. All modern organisations require staff to periodically attempt IQ tests and the down shot is this: Many people make the grade in school, only to fail the IQ test at the corporation or organisation that they are trying to join. In a rational sense those applicants that pass the timed test with this many completed answers and that many correct answers on abstract concepts, will be allowed to progress to the next short list round for consideration by the organisation. Those that were slow and inaccurate, try as they might, degree and all, good intentions and all, those "candidates" will be rejected.

Why complete high school and university, only to be denied a place in your profession by an IQ test? Remember: A degree requires 50% pass mark overall to be awarded the qualification. But the companies and organisations only want to hire the best. If you pass your Law degree with an average of 65%, you will not be accepted by any of the companies that pay a decent salary, because secretly they are looking for applicants who have the same degree but passed with a higher mark than you. Its not enough to have the degree. You must be fast at IQ tests as well, and that is something that cannot be faked. If only you had a quick mind and a functioning memory! Then you'd be a king of this meritocracy! want to be a Lawyer? Want to be a doctor? Want to be a Pilot, Accountant, politician, sea captain, entrepreneur, businessperson, CEO? Good luck to you. Because you need to know: Only those lucky enough to be born intelligent will be accepted. The rest of us will toil at Pizza Hut.
