Who are you and what is this website about? Im gen Y, Im cynical Im basically a demotivational speaker...Im the opposite to Tony Robbins. My generation was told we could be millionaires and superstars. Yeh we got lead down the garden path good and proper. In fact my generation is likely on track to be the first generation to suffer epidemics of obesity diabetes and diseases of inactive lifestyles. The website is kind of an online publication, its like many blogs out there in that its very amateur. This is a deliberate response to the general all-pervasive unrealistic things like the 'self-help' book phenomenon, and the Dr Phil type 'change your life today' kind of attitude.
Why does the website have two names??? (Loser Review & Anticharisma). Because I couldnt decide which was better, so I employed both names. Basically Anticharisma.com is a totally killa domain name and I love it to bits whereas loser review is a descriptive masthead similar in format to any traditional newspaper masthead: Chicago Review, London Review Car Review etc etc etc. Thus Loser Review.
Why did you make this website? I began my life in the early 1980's and was told by parents school teachers – society at large – everyone was telling me I could be anything when I grew up if I tried my hardest in school. Then during my development, through experience and observation, I realised that wasnt true. I then saw that for people like me, the American Dream” The promise of positivist society was ellusive. I felt like a mug for even trying. I found this immense gap between what I was being told was true and what I was seeing was true. I cant stand "The Secret" but I was profoundly impressed and influenced by the British documentary "Up" series.
I dont have one. Im not definable in the traditional ways and I dont support anyone at all. Im eccentric I admit that – but once the green movement was considered rather hippie; but now being green is mainstream...and Im fortunate that at this early stage the internet remains 'free' enough for me to voice issues that would never see the light of day in mainstream news publications such as the saturday paper or the 6 o'clock news. People always want to define you put you in a box say your left or right poor or rich male or female right or wrong black or asian or whatever. There are all sorts of systems of belief out there and I gotta say I dont subscribe to any of them! but i do ask you, why can't we tackle failure more positively?
